It's about time to release a brand new Skyblock tutorial on the forums, as the last tutorial was meant for Skyblock version 3.0. I received a lot of positive feedback from the community so I decided to release an updated tutorial. View the change log at the bottom of this guide if you are interested in the newest changes! Your support really means a lot. I completely rewrote the guide as there are a lot of things that changed and I wanted to put something better and more oversee able together. Hopefully it worked out!

If you have trouble getting started on Skyblock, make sure to scroll down to the FAQ's. They will cover nearly everything! If you still didn't find what you were looking for, please message me on the forums and I will make sure to add it.
You need to connect to the main server mc.desiredcraft.net first. After connecting, use the command /server skyblock or right-click the compass in your inventory and select the Skyblock server from the user interface. This will automatically redirect you to the Skyblock server. Start things off by reading the rules in order to avoid any unnecessary problems. Use the command /is to get started and create your own island, if you haven't already. After doing that, take a minute to visit /warp tutorial if you want to receive a lot of useful information.
The goal of 'Skyblock' is to survive on a floating island with a limited amount of resources. You will be given a handful of items when starting, such as seeds, water and lava. These items are very important at the beginning, because they will allow you to get started properly. Skyblock requires you to accomplish a lot of different tasks, such as expanding your island, setting up automatized farms, completing challenges and quests, competing against other players, building up your own economy, upgrading to better ranks and much more!
Lava turns into cobblestone when a lava stream comes into contact with water. As soon as you mine the generated cobblestone, it will produce another block on the same location. This technique allows you to permanently mine cobblestone on an infinite base. The gained cobblestone can be used to craft better tools or to expand your island.
You need one ice block (or a water bucket) and one lava bucket to build a cobblestone generator. Take a look at the image below if you do not know how to properly set it up.
Your cobblestone generator can produce ores at a specific island level.

You can manage your island by adjusting several different settings. You will find a list of all available commands below. You can alternatively use the global command /is to manage your island if you prefer the usage of a graphical user interface (menu). If you are a new player, simply go with the user-friendly command /is, as it will make it way easier.

NOTE: Make sure to unload your island by either going back to the spawn or simply by reconnecting, as the biome will be changed as soon as the island chunks are being loaded again. You can change the biome of your island as often as you want. |

| /is lang <lang> | Use this command to set the default language of your island. NOTE: Perform the command /is lang first, as this will give you a list of all available languages. Then use the number that's written in front of a language. Example: /is lang 5 for German. |
Skyblock provides a fully developed economy system and offers a high amount of purchasable and sell able items in the shop. Every player owns a virtual bank account and is able to spend his money in the shop, at auctions or in the auction house. The money can also be spend on various other things, such as: coin flips, the lottery, and so on. When you just started, you will have a balance of $ 0 assigned to your account. The easiest and safest way to increase your balance is to sell items at /shop.
Information about the shop
The admin shop is located at /warp shop and offers a variety of items to buy and sell. It is recommended to use the command /shop instead of warping to the actual shop (/warp shop), as it is more efficient and you can use the shop, even when not standing nearby.
There are 7 ranks you can rank up to using /rankup. Every rank unlocks new features, such as a bigger island size or increased item limitations. The rank is always shown as prefix in front of your name. Ranks are becoming important after hitting a limitation, for example the max. island size. If you are new, you should try to get up to the third rank that gives you access to ChestShop. For the rest, there is no need to worry too much about ranking up in no mans time. Please just keep in mind that a higher rank allows you to exceed specific limitations.

You can buy different ranks or items on desiredcraft.net/store. When visiting the shop page, please scroll down and select the 'Skyblock' server, if you are making any purchases for Skyblock. Make sure to be ingame when donating to the server, because otherwise you might not get a reward. You will find a list of all available ranks here.
Votecoins are special coins which can only be obtained by voting for the server using the command /vote. Every vote adds 10 Votecoins to your account. The coins can be spend in the voteshop via /voteshop.
Facts about Voting:
- You can vote once a day with the same IP address and minecraft username combination.
- Votecoins will never be lost, even not when a whole server (e.g. Skyblock) completely resets.
A crate is a chest, located at /warp crates, which is filled with rewards. Right click the crate with the appropriate key in your hand to claim your rewards.

Skyblock is being managed by moderators who voluntary decided to make the server a better place by punishing rule breakers by either kicking, muting or banning them. Which items are required to make a chestshop?
- 1x Chest *
- 1x Sign
* doesn't matter if it is a single, double or trapped chest.
What do I need to do after having the required items?
You need to make sure that your sign is connected to the chest. Placing the sign on top of your chest doesn't work, so I recommend placing the sign on the front of the chest by holding 'Shift' and right-clicking the chest.
How can I create a chestshop now?
[important note]: When setting up a chestshop, always view it from the client's perspective. So if you want to sell diamonds for example, you need to set your sign to 'Buy'. Take a look at the examples below and you will understand it in less than a minute. Even I struggle sometimes with this, so I wanted to make sure to leave it as a note here.
Place a sign, make sure that is is connected to a chest and apply the following template to your sign.

How can I sell items with enchantments?
This is a little bit trickier, because you need to enter the ID of the item with the enchantments. The developer thought about that and made a very useful command. The command is called /iteminfo and you can perform this command while holding the item with the enchantments in your hand. After doing this, you'll see the ID of the item in the first line. Example: Diamond Pickaxe 278:116#2F. If you want to sell this item in your chestshop, just write in the last line of your sign the ID 278:116#2F (in my case).
The auction house is a global market where players are able to sell their items. You can open the auction house by typing /ah in the chat. If you want to buy an item from the auction house, you just need to click the item in the inventory. You can get a more detailed description of the item by hovering over it.

How can I sell items in the auction house?
If you want to sell an item in the auction house, type /ah sell <price> while holding the item that you want to sell in your hand. It automatically sells as many items as you are holding in your hand when executing the command.
Other useful commands for the auction house:
- /ah expired - Take items back that no one has bought or you canceled selling.
- /ah selling - See all items you are currently selling.

General
What is a profit farm/shop?
A profit farm is an user provided shop that sells a certain amount of items or blocks for a very good price. You will make profit when you sell the items/blocks at /warp shop. Example : You can buy 2304 melons for 6500$ at someone's island and you can sell them for 9200$ at /warp shop. These profit farms/shops are not only very common on Skyblock but also favored by newer players.
How do I check if a staff member is online?
You can check this by typing /who in chat. It will show you the staff members who are currently online.
What is the one reaction message that regularly appears in the global chat?
A random word pops up every five minutes in the chat. This word could look like this: 8fAIWmuU. The first player who types the word without any mistakes will receive $ 200 as reward for being the fastest and climb in the reaction leader boards (/reaction top).
Is the nether enabled?
Yes, the nether is enabled. You can enter it by building a nether portal on your own island. You can also enter the nether via a nether portal on an other player's island, but you won't be able to place or destroy any blocks there, unless you've been cooped by the given player.
How can I see which player has the most money / deaths / kills / timeplayed?
You can see the specific leaderboards by executing the command /dctop money | deaths | kills | time played.
Is fire spread and mob griefing enabled?
No, fire spread and mob griefing is not enabled.
What is 'KOTH' and how does it work?
KoTH stands for King of The Hill. The aim is to "cap" the hill by staying inside the red square just in front of /warp koth for fifteen minutes without being "knocked" out of it by other players. If there are multiple people in the area when someone is knocked, the person in there longest becomes the person who is capping and the fifteen minute timer is reset. If you win ("cap"), you can get some great loot out of the chest. This can be seen on /koth loot, but includes well enchanted PvP gear, potions, and some rare blocks.The KoTH runs four times a day - at 5am, 1pm, 4pm, and 8pm (EST times). For those who dislike PvP, the KoTH can be silenced with /koth ignore.
How can I trade with someone?
Use /trade <playerName> to trade with another player. Put the items you want to trade in, accept the deal and wait until he also accepts the deal.
Economy
How do I make money?
You can sell a variety of items or blocks at /shop in order to earn money. You can alternatively sell items in the auction house (use /ah). Other, unsafe ways of making money are: winning a coin flip (use: /cf) or winning the lottery (use: /lottery).
How do I participate in the lottery?
You need to buy at least one ticket for $ 10,000 to participate in the lottery. You can do that by either typing /lottery buy <amount of tickets> or by typing /lottery and using the GUI to buy your tickets. Every player can buy up to 10 tickets. For more information, simply use /lottery.
How can I create or accept a coin flip?
Use the command /cf to accept a coin flip or to create one. When creating one, you have the possibility of entering a custom or pre-defined amount and you can choose whether you take 'heads' or 'tails'.
Island / island commands
How can I create an island? How can I go back to my island?
Please refer to the "Island commands" section.
How can I set up a public warp to my island?
You can set up a public warp to your island by writing a sign with [welcome] in the first line on it. The other lines of the sign can be used for a custom description.
How can I increase my island level?
You can increase your island level by placing blocks on your island. Every single block is being used to determine your current island level. If you want to increase your island level fast, it is recommend to place valuable blocks (for example diamond blocks) on your island. Make sure to always use /is level to refresh your island level!
My lava turned into an obsidian block. How can I fix this?
You can right-click the obsidian block with an empty bucket in your hand and it will automatically remove it and replace the bucket in your inventory with a lava bucket. You can also buy another lava bucket at /shop.
Spawners
How do I upgrade my spawner?
Hold SHIFT and right click your spawner. After the GUI successfully opened, click the 'Bottle o' Enchanting' and that's it!
Why isn't my cow spawner working?
There needs to be grass around the spawner and the spawner needs to be near a light source, such as a torch or glowstone for example.
Why isn't my slime spawner working?
Slimes do not spawn above y=30. Press F3 and look at what height your spawner is placed. If the y coordinate is above 30, then you need to change the position of your spawner.

Woodcutting :
You can level this skill up by chopping down trees.

| Double Drops | There is a chance to get double drops while farming wood. The chance of getting double drops will increase by 0.1% per level. At level 1.000, your chance is equal to 100%. |
| Tree Feller | Right-clicking the block on the bottom of a tree while holding an axe in your hand will instantly break the whole tree. The cool down of this ability is 4 minutes and it has a duration of 2 seconds at level 0. The time increases by 1 second for every 50 levels gained. |
| Leaf Blower | When holding an axe in your hand, you can instantly break leaves. The destroyed leaves have a 10% chance of dropping a corresponding sapling. |
The fastest way to train woodcutting on the skyblock server is to make a jungle- or dark oak wood farm.
Herbalism :
You can level this skill up by harvesting sugar canes, melons, pumpkins, wheat, ...

Green Thumb does not only re-plant fully grown plants, it also sets a specific growth stage.
The fastest way to train herbalism on the skyblock server with no resources is to make an extremely large sugar cane farm.
Fishing :
You can level this skill up by fishing.

Mining:
You can level this skill up by breaking stone blocks or any type of ores.

| Super Breaker | To activate Super Breaker, right-click with your mouse while the pickaxe is in hand and aimed at a minable block. Upon activation, the pickaxe will gain efficiency 5. The duration of this skill increases the more the user levels up in mining skill. While this skill is activated your double drop chance will become a triple drop chance. |

Acrobatics:
You can level this skill up by taking fall damage.
| Ability | Description |
| Roll | The fall damage is being reduced to up to 7 damage points (3.5 hearts) when crouching before hitting the ground. |
| Graceful Roll | The fall damage is being reduced to up to 14 damage points (7 hearts). This ability is two times as effective as the 'Roll' ability. |
| Dodge | For every level in Acrobatics you gain, you will be granted an extra 0.025% chance to dodge. This skill halves the amount of attack damage that you receive when fighting against a mob or player. At level 1000, your chance will be 25%. |
The fastest way to train acrobatics on the skyblock server is to fall from a height where you are surviving and taking fall damage. You will gain XP if you survive the fall and suffer fall damage.
Swords:
You can level this skill up by fighting mobs or other players (PvE || PvP).
| Ability | Description |
| Bleed | This effect causes enemies to take damage every two seconds. The duration of the bleed effect is increased by your sword level. This skill is very useful in the PvP area on the server. |
| Counter Attack | A counter attack takes the damage done to you, and returns half to the attacking person or mob. |
The fastest way to train swords on the skyblock server is to make a mobfarm or by fighting other players in the PvP-arena.
Axes:
You can level this skill up by hitting naturally spawned mobs
| Ability | Description |
| Skull Splitter | Deal surrounding players who are standing within a half block radius of your main target 50% damage. This is a great ability for 2vs1 in PvP or PvE. |
| Critical Strikes | Chance of dealing double damage to mobs or 1.5x damage to other players. |
| Axe Mastery | Increases the overall damage with axes by 0,5 hearts every 50 levels. The maximum damage will be reached at level 250, with 4 hearts extra damage. |
| Armor Impact | Increases the amount of damage an axe makes to the armor. |
| Greater Impact | Adds 1 heart extra damage to mobs/players without armor. It also adds knockback II on a sword. |
The fastest way to train axes on the Skyblock server is to hit naturally spawned mobs.
Repair:
You can level this skill up by repairing items using an iron block.
| Ability | Description |
| Repair | Repairs an item. Right-click an mcmMMO anvil (iron block) and make sure to have the material the item is made of in your inventory (example: a dimaond for a diamond pickaxe). A higher repair level allows you to repair more durability. |
| Arcane Forging | Repairs an item and keeps the enchantments on it. This ability is only usable for Bedrock Legacy or higher. |
The fastest way to train repair on the Skyblock server is by offering newer players free repairs of non enchanted tools or armor.
